IN MEMORIAM

Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Margot Patterson Doss died of a stroke last Wednesday at age 79.
She played a seminal role in the establishment of the U.S. environmental movement. She was the central organizer of its first action, which occurred a few miles north of Bolinas CA in early spring of 1969. It was a successful effort to halt logging on a ranch there.
