NOTE TO READERS: I absent-mindedly sent this to you during the U.S. Memorial Day weekend, so here it is again---with hopes that you Americans now have time for a response. -- kl, pp
FREE VOICE OF AMERICA + Accurate News and Interesting Commentary For Amerika's Huddled Masses Yearning to Breathe Free + May 25, 2003 Dear Friends and Colleagues,
In Africa this year about forty million humans plus large numbers of many other species are at risk of dying from malnutrition and water-borne diseases resulting mainly from Big Oil's atmospheric pollution and from the indifference of brother/sister humans on our other continents.
Doesn't it seem to you that this idea of all-species shields (see below) provides us with an unusually good opportunity to dramatize their plight? Thus far, international media have provided shamefully little coverage of all this suffering. But if we take up residence in some of the worst-hit communities, there's quite a good chance that such coverage would increase significantly and also would become less hard-hearted. This seems necessary because projected food-aid shipments are currently far less than what's needed to save all these lives.
Thus I urge you to help me find at least nineteen others willing to become all-species shields. Please relay a copy of this to anyone possibly available. Thank you. The letter below went out yesterday to my much smaller list of all-species activists. With very highest regards, Keith Lampe, Ponderosa Pine
GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA IN EXILE + Free Americans Resisting the Fourth Reich on Behalf of All Species + May 24, 2003 Dear All-Species Activists,
Greetings! Today I'd like to share with you an idea for redeeming our all-species community.
I'm sure you've noticed that during the past couple decades all-species activism has---with a precious few exceptions---steadily degenerated from its original street-oriented focus into coy cute behavior aimed at luring big foundation grants providing livelihoods.
We can change all this. Let's become all-species shields! Can you dig it? I certainly can.
Within current planetary circumstances probably the most effective way of doing this is for us to move into African cities and villages where folks are starving---and start eating and drinking what they do. If they're eating and drinking at all! This way, we can dramatize the effects of Climate Destabilization, which of course are significantly and negatively impacting most of our dear homeplanet species.
So we use the human context of malnutrition and starvation to point out what's happening to many other species as a result of the Fourth Reich's transformation of our fragile precious earthly atmosphere into a lethal gas chamber.
I think it's best to select African cities and villages where the recent weather patterns leading to the malnutrition/starvation are statistically so unusual as to leave no reasonable doubt that they're human-caused. This way we can discredit Big Oil's propaganda about Extreme Weather Events being parts of natural cycles.
Are you up for this? I am---if there are at least nineteen others of us. Fewer than twenty of us would be a show of weakness---given the urgency of the dire African situation now.
Of course I'm extremely eager to hear from you. Please take time to relay your feelings about this---and your suggestions. Can we get ourselves together by July? Yours for all species, Keith Lampe, Ro-Non-So-Te, Ponderosa Pine Transition President
